2017 NRL Predictions Top 4 Top 8 Ladder
The new NRL season kicks off next week, so we have finished our 2017 NRL Predictions Top 4 Top 8 Ladder
While the top 4 looks like the major contenders for the title, it’s the bottom half of the 8 which is up for grabs.
Melbourne, coming off a narrow loss in the grand final, again look like the team to beat and will look to cement top spot. Canberra, even with all the injuries suffered last season, went down narrowly to Melbourne in the prelim final and look primed at a shake at the title. Penrith are the team, like Canberra, who with all their young talent can take the next step this season. The Cowboys round out our top 4, with a hungry JT, will be major players at the end of the season.
The Broncos lost Parker to retirement and with Ben Hunt leaving at seasons end will be looking to have another strong run at the title.
Last year’s premiers, the Sharks, with the loss of Michael Ennis will be relying on youngsters Wade Graham, Valentine Holmes and Jack Bird to keep them towards the top of the ladder again this season.
Manly should be more settled this season and with the addition of Blake Green from the Storm, will look to improve on last season and should play finals footy.
The Bulldogs struggled late last season to score points but with Des Hasler again in charge, will find a way to get into the finals.
The bottom half of the 8 is up for grabs.
The Warriors and Eels look like the two teams who can challenge to jump into the 8. Both teams will be much stronger and avoiding injuries should be in the mix. The remainder of the ladder is a toss of the coin with these teams all in the rebuilding phase.
The two teams which could make a surprising jump are the Roosters and the Titans. Both teams have added fire power to their rosters and if things fall there way can challenge for the top 8.
