Hot off a Chris Lynn master class in their last match v Sydney Sixers, the Brisbane Heat last night delivered what only can be described as “horrendous”.
With the Heat restricting the Perth Scorchers to a below par score of 149, it appeared that the Heat could win back to back games for the first time this tournament. But as Brisbane has been known to do, especially at the top of their batting order, it was a mess of a run chase from the get go.
With the Heat batsman continually playing rash shots instead of building partnerships, we saw them fall to a disgraceful 9-78 until Zahir Khan, the Heat’s number 11 batsman, got them to an all out score of 109.
With Zahir Khan top scoring for the Heat with just 19, and the way that Brisbane fell apart yet again to some great spin bowling & horrible stroke playing, even with A.B De Villiers on the way to play for the Heat it looks like a massive up hill battle if they are to play in the finals this tournament.
Players such as Ben Cutting, Max Bryant and Tom Banton are playing well below what level is needed in the B.B.L.
